Common questions

Quick troubleshooting

Why did my reminder not appear?

Open Echo Settings and check Notification access. If access is off, tap the settings action and allow notifications for Echo. On Android, also check Precise reminders; without that optional access, Android may deliver a reminder later than the exact time you selected.

Why did a repeat alert wait until later?

Check Quiet hours in Echo Settings. Quiet hours pause repeat alerts during the window you chose. A reminder time you explicitly selected still alerts at that time.

How do I add or refresh the Home Screen widget?

Use your phone's Home Screen widget picker and search for Echo. If its contents appear old, open Echo once and edit or create an echo. You can also remove the widget and add it again after updating the app.

Does opening Echo notify every pinned reminder again?

No. Opening Echo restores future schedules without re-alerting reminders that are already pinned. Use the bell action on an echo when you intentionally want another notification.

Where are my echoes stored?

Echo stores notes, reminder times, history, and preferences on your device. Echo has no cloud account and does not send your notes to Patchroot. Uninstalling the app removes its local data, subject to backups managed by your device provider.

How do I remove an echo?

Mark an active echo Done, or swipe it away to discard it. Completed echoes can be cleared from the Completed section, and the retention option in Settings controls how long completed text stays visible.
